Sponsorship project for 300 orphans

The population of Idlib Governorate in Syria has risen from less than 1.5 million to about 3.5 million due to the war that began in 2011.

More than a million IDPs in Idlib are currently living in makeshift camps, and Khirbet al-Jouz village alone has 47 scattered camps with a total population of about 35,000 IDPs in addition to 5,000 people living in the city itself.

Most of the residents of these camps lost their belongings and currently do not have an income and live on the aid of NGOs. A high percentage of the residents of these camps are widows, orphans and people with disabilities.

Based on this situation, we in the Preservation of NDYD, in cooperation with our partners, launched the project to sponsor orphans and their families, and 300 orphans were selected from among the most needy orphans, who do not receive assistance from other organizations.

2,700 Turkish liras were distributed to each orphan over a six-month period, to be handed over to those who take care of them.
